Thank you for your interest in the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association. In view of today’s rapidly changing health care environment, participation in an organized Chiropractic Association is essential for staying abreast of current issues and in positioning you and your practice for success. Every practicing Doctor of Chiropractic should be a member.

As the exclusive membership organization for chiropractors in Pennsylvania, the PCA is dedicated to the advancement of chiropractic as an accepted and viable health care choice in the state and the nation.  We are extremely committed to maintaining our scope of practice through legislative and regulatory action on Capitol Hill.  We maintain a fulltime lobby and legal service to insure all pertinent issues are properly addressed and modified in the best interest of the chiropractic profession in Pennsylvania.

Through your PCA membership, you will have access to excellent resources and information that will assist you and your office personnel on matters of importance to your daily needs.  Have a billing question?  Call the PCA Insurance Hotline.  Need documents or continuing education credits?  We can handle those as well.  As you will come to see with your new membership, our materials are first class and updated regularly to meet all regulatory and legal timelines.

• PCA passes House Bill 1912 (uploaded as HB 1912) (Act 76)!  As of September 15, 2004, Chiropractors in the state of PA are now authorized to perform drivers license physical exams and issue handicap placards
• PCA successfully passes Act 11 & Act 12 (changed title – also Steffie – these are 2 different documents Act 11 is SB 1011 and Act 12 is SB 1012 – these have bee uploaded as SB 1011 and SB 1012) in defining manipulation/adjustments
• PCA Working Hard to get Vote on HB 1850 (Steffie – please link this to the e-newsletter with the same name)
• Highmark Blue Shield Treatment plans eliminated completely as of July 1, 2004 in 49 counties of PA
• As of May 2004, the only insurance carrier that is continuing to force multiple co-payments upon healthcare providers is Highmark, Inc.
• PCA successfully argued before the State Department that Physical Therapists cannot perform manipulation/adjustments
• Led 46 Chiropractic State Associations to support and sign-on to an Amicus Brief regarding an appeal of the Trigon lawsuit
