We make every attempt to offer programs as publicized. We nevertheless reserve the right to alter and/or adjust program details, including but not limited to dates, locations, times, instructors, and presentation sources and sequences. You are encouraged, therefore, to contact the PCA to confirm program details prior to attending the sessions. PCA is not responsible for expenses and/or consequential damages suffered by registrants of altered programs.
Why Are Some PCA Programs Cancelled or Rescheduled?
Periodically, PCA has needed to cancel or reschedule continuing education programs. Often times, program registrants are understandably upset, especially those who have made advanced travel and lodging plans to attend. The reason for cancellations or rescheduling is simple: too many doctors respond to CE opportunities at the last minute.
In all cases, PCA program planning requires significant advanced booking for a hotel or meeting facility, including meeting rooms, an overnight room block, speakers, marketing and program collateral materials, food functions, audio-visual equipment, etc. The advanced bookings always require a minimum guarantee of attendees, especially for food function planning.
Program cancellations or rescheduling only occur when PCA determines that there are simply not enough registrations for a program (usually about one month in advance of the program date) to justify the guarantee to the venue. This is done to protect PCAs financial interests and your interests as a dues-paying member.
Solution? When you receive program notices that you are interested in attending, PLEASE respond promptly to those notices. Its our only way to guarantee that your favorite PCA program will be held as scheduled!
Thank you for your consideration!
